I remember installing the kde-full package set back when regular Windows Home users only had access to WSL 1, KDE would crash almost instantly and I'm not sure any amount of hacking on my part would have helped, as supposedly WSL 1 didn't have the fundamental capabilities necessary to support it even with D-Bus hacks and stuff.
