Tractor. RK37HC. My RK37HC now has 64 hours on it and I have yet to see a regen request. Several months back I seem to remember someone mentioning that theirs did a regen right at 50 hours when the first service was due. Just curious at what point other RK37 owners are seeing for having to start the regen process.
If the DPF warning light comes on it’s because the engine management system needs to ‘actively’ regenerate the DPF. You should take your car on a run to allow the regeneration process to take place. Most engine management systems will actively regenerate the DPF when the car is driven at speeds above 40mph for around 10 to 15 minutes. A standard forced regen is under 40 minutes; if yours typically last for an hour or more, this may indicate an issue. Anyone know how long the procedure takes when you start it and what sustained / elevated rpm does it take the engine to? Click to expand Post #18 Manual Regen
Active regeneration works by injecting extra fuel in order to increase the the temperature of the exhaust gases and burn off the soot in the DPF. It still requires a journey of a reasonable length though - around 10 minutes at 40mph or more is the suggested time.
