Epic doesn't have any controller support at all, you either have to use 3rd party software to emulate your controller as an xbox controller for the game to pick it up, or use Steam overlay to add your controller support, or can ask the game devs to add the controller support, but most often they just stick to xbox xinput, than anything else.
So far, reWASD is the only option you should consider when using a Pro controller on PC. No, just put the epic games launcher into steam, because you can connect the pro controller into steam, and play from there.
